Candidating week
May 3 through May 10
Please highlight Sunday, May 3rd, through Sunday, May 10th, on your calendar. If all goes as we plan, that will be the week that our ministerial candidate will be in Nashua for candidating week.
The candidate will conduct the worship services on both Sundays and spend the week between getting to know us — and us her or him. Immediately following the service on May 10th, we'll convene a congregational meeting, and the voting members will vote on the search committee's motion to call the candidate as our next settled minister.
In selecting the dates for candidating week, the search committee checked the availability of our pre-candidates, our own schedules, the church and school calendars. With all the constraints, we had few options and thought this one best.
We do recognize that candidating week begins at the end of the spring recess for many area schools and that May 10th is Mother's Day. We regret any conflicts and offer that those missing the first Sunday because of spring break travels can listen to the recording of the service; and the congregational meeting the second Sunday shouldn't delay lunch with mom too long.
Once we have a candidate to present to the congregation (by mid April), we'll publish a detailed schedule of the activities planned during candidating week.
If you have questions about the search process, please leave a comment or ask one of the search committee members: Laurie Goodman, Kathy Grossman, Steve Hedges, Carol Houde, Donna LaRue, or Gary Lerude
